Mr. Jared is a graduate of Elon University in North Carolina, holding a BFA in Music Theatre. He began dancing at the age of 8 and studied under many prestigious companies including Ballet Austin, Tapestry Dance Company, and Interlochen School for the Arts. Jared has performed in numerous plays, musicals and dance performances in the Chicago area and beyond including the Broadway National Tour of Monty Python’s Spamalot, Music Man at the Paramount, and Hello Dolly at Drury Lane Oakbrook. Jared brings a vast array of skills and knowledge to Sunshine Dance from his many years in the performance industry.
Jared is the proud Owner of Sunshine Dance and Director of the award-winning Sunshine Dance Company. In addition, Jared is also the Owner/Artistic Director of Bright Lights Theatre, a local children's theatre company. He is beyond thrilled to be sharing his knowledge and passion for dance and theatre with the next generation of young artists.

Miss Steph is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance and a minor in Dance! Stephanie's love for dance began at an early age, starting with competition dance in her youth and then onto collegiate level classes later in life. She has worked as a choreographer for many schools and youth programs in the Chicago area and beyond. She has been a performer with Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Colorado, Theo Ubique in Chicago, and Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook. Stephanie has been a member of the Sunshine Dance faculty for the past 5 years. In addition, she also acts as the resident Music Director/Choreographer for Bright Lights Theatre here in Glen Ellyn! In her free time she loves writing songs and playing guitar!

Miss Brittany is originally from San Jose, California where she trained with Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara completing her B.F.A. in dance. Upon graduation, she received the Tonia Shimin award for excellence and promise in the field of dance and an honorable mention for her choreography at UCSB. She performed works by Nancy Colahan, José Limon, Austin McCormick, Robert Battle and many more faculty members and students. While residing in Chicago she has apprenticed with Chicago Repertory Ballet, performed as a solo dancer in Lyric Opera of Chicago's production of Tannhauser, was a featured dancer in Paramount Theater's production of West Side Story, and most recently performed in Dance For Life with Hanna Brictson and Dancers. She currently freelance performs in a variety of shows and festivals around Chicago. Brittany has found a passion in teaching and is excited to be able to share her love of dance with her students!

Miss Alanna started dancing at the age of fifteen. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelors of fine arts with an emphasis in dance performance. At NIU she had extensive training under Autumn Eckman, Paula Frasz, and Judith Chitwood. She was a 2013 scholarship recipient at Chicago’s Visceral Dance Center and trained at Lou Conte Dance Studio. Post graduation she has been seen with Paul Christiano’s “Hungry Ghosts”, The Lyric Opera of Chicago, DanszLoop Chicago, and has participated in multiple freelance dance shows. She has also performed with Winifred & Haun Dancers “Open Rehearsal”, DanceWorks Chicago “DanceBytes”, Chicagos “Carnival”, and in a wide repertoire with Northern Dance Theatre in DeKalb, Illinois. Alanna was also a principal dancer with Hedwig Dances where she toured internationally to perform. She has been most recently contracted to perform with Aerial Dance Chicago, taking her dancing to new heights and opportunities. Alanna has a passion for choreographing and teaching, she loves watching children’s love for dance grow.

LAUREN ROMANO ERICKSON
Miss Lauren holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University and her teaching license from National Louis University. As a teaching artist, she works with Metropolis School of Performing Arts and BAM Theatre. She has directed many children’s shows, and enjoys helping her students build confidence onstage and off. Lauren is the co-founder of Firefly Family Theatre, which produces interactive, unique performances for young audiences. In addition to her work in the Chicagoland area, Lauren completed a year long tour with Missoula Children’s Theater, which allowed her to teach and direct students from all over the country. When not teaching, Lauren also enjoys performing and has been seen in shows at Metropolis, City Lit Theatre, Big Noise and Steel Beam Theatre.

Miss Kelly, originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Social Psychology. During her time at WMU, Kelly had the privilege of performing professional works by Aszure Barton, Kyle Abraham, Brian Enos, and Rennie Harris. Kelly has attended ADF’s New York Winter Intensive, DanceWorks Chicago’s DanceForce and ChoreoLab, and Houston METdance’s Professional Summer Intensive. She served as the President of Orchesis Dance Society - a student organization within the Department of Dance at WMU - and was a part of Movement Exchange in which she shared dance with local children in preschools and after-school programs as well as internationally in Panamá at orphanages and underserved schools. Kelly believes in the powerful ability dance has to bring people together and loves sharing this with her students!

Miss Mimi has actively been involved in cheer and dance since the age of 6. She received her dance training under Dawn Thompson, Kathleen Thongsamouth, and Chris Xayarath. Mimi has and continues to dance professionally with companies such as CODA (urban dance group) and Boom Crack! Dance Company! She enjoys teaching dancers of all ages and her goal is to help as many young students as possible pursue their passion and find/foster a love for dance.

Miss Kendra is currently the artistic director and founder of jorsTAP Chicago, the only all female concert tap dance company in Chicago. Originally from Newark, IL, Kendra graduated from Point Park University with a BA in Dance Performance and an emphasis in jazz dance. She moved to Chicago and began her career with the Joel Hall Dancers. During that time, she also performed with Rasa Dance Theatre and became an original member of Chicago Tap Theatre. Kendra was the rehearsal director and dancer for Chicago Tap Theatre for nine seasons. Performance credits include Dance Chicago, Giordano Jazz Dance World Congress, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Lollapalooza (with the Polyphonic Spree), Ravinia, Duets for my Valentine, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, and other Chicago Tap Theatre performances in Chicago, France, Cincinnati, Pennsylvania, and NYC. Teaching credits include the Omaha Dance Teachers Association workshop, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Des Plaines Dance Idol, Wisconsin Dance Masters Workshop, Indiana State Dance Championships, suburban high school orchesis/dance programs, and numerous studios in the Chicagoland area.

Miss "Dee Dee" is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in the Chicagoland area. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BFA in Dance and minors in Social Work and Performing Arts Management. At U of M she performed works by Ohad Naharin and Camille A. Brown. Following school, Dee Dee performed for regional theatres in the midwest that include Circa ‘21 Dinner Theatre and the Encore Musical Theatre Company. She performed as a Magician's Assistant for the Krendl Magic Show and has worked as a dance ensemble member for Mandell Entertainment. Miss Dee Dee also performed as a dancer/singer for Carnival Cruise Lines. As an educator, she has taught and choreographed dance in the midwest and in NYC, and was an instructor for Universal Dance Association. At the beginning of 2021, she will be joining Precision Dance Challenge as a judge! Dee Dee aspires to help the students of Sunshine Dance experience the positive impact of participating in the arts!

Miss Hayley is originally from Wixom, Michigan. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she received a BFA in Dance. Hayley has trained in a variety of styles including jazz, ballet, modern and contemporary. The Michigan Dance Council awarded Hayley the Maggie Allesee Choreography Award for her piece “Dear Larry,” in 2019. Hayley also performed her work at the 2020 ACDA East-Central Regional Conference where she was selected to perform at the National Conference in Long Beach, California. Hayley has recently relocated to Chicago where she teaches dance and is a member of South Chicago Dance Theatre as an Emerging Artist for the 2020-2021 season. She is excited to be joining the team at Sunshine Dance!

Mr. Andy holds a BFA in Dance from Chapman University in Orange, California, where he was instructed by Jennifer Backhaus, Laurence Rosenberg, Dale Merrill, Sean Greene, Holly Johnston, and Liz Maxwell. His training also includes summer studies through programs at Hubbard Street, American Ballet Theatre, Backhausdance, and San Francisco Ballet. Mr. Andy performed with Gallimaufry Performing Arts under the direction of Steve Josephson as part of the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland and has also performed in California as a guest artist with Anaheim Ballet, BARE Dance Company, Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy, and Maple Conservatory. Lawson’s previous company credits include Clairobiscur, BackhausDance, and Hubbard Street 2. In the summer of 2017, Lawson moved to Chicago, IL. During his time with Hubbard Street 2, he participated in community outreach programs that brought contemporary dance to local Chicago elementary schools, teaching students about the importance of dance as an art form, sharing insights behind the creative process, and allowing students to participate in contemporary improvisation. He is currently an Artistic Associate of COMMON conservatory, a full-day program aimed at dancers on the verge of a professional career.
